Marcus Marsh is a theatre director based in London. Having originally growing up on the south coast near Portsmouth, he trained at Leeds University before moving to London to focus on a career in theatre directing.

He strives to create work that causes discussion amongst audiences in line with issues of the current world we live in, both through new works and established texts. In 2016 he co-founded Blueleaf Theatre Company (find out more here), which works to develop new pieces of writing with emerging playwrights. He directed their first show, That Moment, written by Dougie Blaxand on tour across the UK including the Edinburgh Festival. More recently he directed James P Mannion's new play Hedgehogs & Porcupines at The Old Red Lion Theatre. He is currently working with the National Theatre on Tom Wells' new play Stuff in conjunction with NT Connections.

Marcus works as an assistant director and has assisted on shows at Southwark Playhouse, The Old Red Lion Theatre, The Waterside Theatre and Edinburgh Festival. He has a strong interest in working with and developing young performers having worked with students from The British Theatre Academy and through NT Connections.
